Glade Expressions Review

I am part of a "word of mouth" program in which I receive free products or coupons to purchase products in exchange for my opinions/reviews. If you're interested in joining just go to Bzzagent.com and sign up.

I'll start off by saying I have used other Glade products before and have never really been disappointed in them. I was just as pleased with these! These scents are really true to their description and the multiple scents in each really balance each other out without one overpowering the other. I chose the Pineapple & Mangosteen oil diffuser for the upstairs and the Fuji Apple & Cardamon spice for the downstairs. I noticed that you definitely don't want to put this in a small enclosed area it will be way too overpowering, that being said they're great for larger rooms or more open spaces. The scent really fills the area and smells great. I noticed it helped cover up the usual cooking smells which is a great plus to me. Nobody wants their living room smelling like fried onions! I've already gotten compliments on both scents and what I really like is the unique combinations of the scents. I had never even heard of a mangosteen fruit before and now I know what one is and even went out and bought one to taste it and see if the scent was true to the Glade product, I'd say it is! Unfortunately it's not not perfect, the scent faded much faster than I expected. It advertises it will last 30 days but I'd say closer to 2 weeks. There is still oil in the bottom and if you are close then you can smell it but it doesn't seem to fill the room as it did earlier. As for the sprays I like them as well, especially the look of them. You can take the label off to just have a neat modern looking bottle that can even be incorporated into decor so you don't have to hide it away. The scent isn't very long lasting though but it's nice just for a misting here and there. Aesthetically, I was rather disappointing in the wooden oil diffuser, which came with the pineapple and mangosteen scent. It looks really cheap where the pattern has been cut out. As for the white oil diffuser I have no complaints! It looks clean and modern and could easily fit into most room decor. Overall I am pleased with the results. I do plan on buying refills but I won't buy the wooden diffuser or recommend that to anyone. The white one is much nicer. While they last they do smell amazing and that's quite important!

Ultimately, I would recommend the white oil diffusers but the mist I would warn others it isn't so strong or long lasting.

UNREAL Review: A Healthier Candy Alternative

I am part of a "word of mouth" program in which I receive free products or coupons to purchase products in exchange for my opinions/reviews. If you're interested in joining just go to Bzzagent.com and sign up. This was my first Bzz Campaign & I look forward to more!

I'll start off by saying I think you have to be open minded when trying these candies. You can't go into it expecting them to taste EXACTLY like the originals because you'll be disappointed. I was really looking forward to these trying this candy line as I have cut back on so many treats due to all the unhealthy amounts of sugar and ingredients I can't even pronounce. So I will admit I had pretty high expectations! I wasn't disappointed.

I tried three different varieties from the UNREAL candy line; UN 8, UN 77, and UN 54. The candies they are "mimicked" after are actually three of my favorites!
They all tasted more natural (which is a good thing in my own opinion). The sugar didn't hurt my teeth as candies often do to me these days. Out of those three I enjoyed the UN 54 the most. The peanuts tasted like they had just come out of the shell! The UN 8 was my second favorite but I didn't like the nougat part of it as much. To me the consistency wasn't as appealing as in a regular Snickers but overall a yummy taste. Lastly, is the UN 77 which was my least favorite of the three but I don't think it was bad at all just not as good as the others. I feel like it was missing the saltiness that I get from a Reese's which makes it less appetizing to me.

These are the UN 77 and UN 8 (which are like Reese's Cups and Snickers)

I bought extra and shared them with family and friends. My mom actually said she preferred the UN 77 over Reese's Cups and would be buying it again as a replacement. My younger sister said she thought the UN 54 was just the regular peanut M&Ms and not a different brand. She definitely liked them. My best friend didn't care for the  UN 8 at all but really enjoyed the UN 77. Her boyfriend didn't like any of those three and said they were "too healthy to be enjoyed".

Overall I enjoyed them for what they are. There are some people I'd recommend them to and others I could guarantee won't enjoy them. If you're open minded with food or willing to sacrifice sweetness for  a healthier option then I'd say go for it!

I only gave them 4 out of 5 stars because I know they won't be for everyone and the price is higher than a "regular" candy bar. I will be buying them again though. If you have any questions, feel free to ask!

John Frieda Color Foam Review

Maintaining bottle blonde hair can be a lot of work and I don't recommend it to anyone who isn't willing to put the effort (and money) into it. I have already been close to just dying it brunette again a few times but every time I touch up my unsightly brunette roots and have a whole head of blonde again, it makes me happy I didn't! I really enjoy being a blonde which I never thought would be the case. I used to get it highlighted but that became way too expensive to do on a regular basis so I took matters into my own hands!

My last review was about getting your hair bleach blonde which is great when you first get the results you were hoping for but soon after you're dealing with hideous roots (which is when most give up and go darker once again). To maintain my lovely (more natural looking than bleached) blonde I use John Frieda Precision Foam Colour, Extra Light Beige Blonde 10B  this is the lightest shade available. Sometimes it's harder to find that shade in store which is why I often buy it off of Amazon.

I just recently touched up my roots with this shade which is why I decided to do a review so that I'd have pictures to share.
What comes in the box:

Since it's a foam coloring it's a bit different than a regular at home hair dye kit. It is really simple to set up, you just put the number 2 bottle into the number 1 bottle put the lid back on and gently tilt from side to side 5 times and do exactly as the directions say, do not shake it! The gloves that come with it are actually the best hair dying gloves I've ever gotten from a kit. The quality is great and they actually fit my hands! I really get frustrated when kits comes with the huge gloves that make me kind of clumsy while applying the dye. I actually keep the gloves from these kits to reuse again later for other dyes (when I help my sister dye her hair).

After it's set up you just squeeze the side of the bottle and a lovely foam will come out. I suggest squeezing it onto your gloves then applying to your hair, not applying it directly from the bottle. For roots touch ups like I do, I first apply only to the roots then when that is finished I let it sit for 30 minutes then I work the remaining foam through the rest of my hair and let it sit another 10 minutes to get a nice even coverage.

I have pretty thin hair and it's about shoulder length so I really don't need much, I always end up tossing some at the end. The liquid foams up so much that I can't imagine many people needing more than one bottle for their whole head. After you let it sit for the desire time you rinse it out with lukewarm water just as with most dyes, except that this foam dye is so easy to rinse out. I leave the conditioner on longer than directed, about 10 minutes usually. The conditioner is really great and smells amazing. It'll leave your hair so soft and smooth and shiny!

My hair before (unsightly roots!):

My hair after the root touch up:

Awesome, right?! You can still notice a slight difference in color where my roots used to be but to fix that I just use a purple shampoo and that lightens it up and evens the tones out. I personally use Jhirmack Distinctions Silver Plus and it does an amazing job at keeping my hair a non yellowy/non brassy blonde.

I have to say the John Frieda Foam Color is definitely the best permanent at home hair dye I have ever tried. It's so simple to use, even without any help from others. It gives a non patchy even coverage as advertised and the selection of colors is great. I have heard from other reviewers that the color comes out darker than on the box so some might want to take that into consideration when choosing a color. I have tried a shade of brown from the collection, 5N, as well as another blonde, 8N, both worked great for me!

All things considered I would definitely recommend this product! If anyone has any questions feel free to ask, I'm not an expert but I do have quite a bit of experience with at home hair dying. Thanks for reading!

From Blue Black to Bleach Blonde

My first first review on this blog! I'm still waiting for my Bzzkit to arrive so that I can review the Unreal candy, in the meantime I decided I'll do a review on the DIY bleaching kit I used on my hair a few months back.

The bleaching kit I used is called L'Oreal Paris Super Blonde Crème Lightening Kit, Medium Brown to Darkest Brown. I used it twice, the first time I got it from Amazon (if you click the link it'll take you to it) and the second time I got it from Target, around $11.99 if I recall correctly.

A few months ago I had blue black hair and decided I wanted to go drastically lighter. I bought the bleach and with a little help from a friend (I do not recommend doing it alone) I managed to bleach my entire head. This wasn't the first time I had ever used a bleaching kit in my hair but it was the first time I did the whole thing. I have to admit I was kind of upset after the first bleaching. My hair came out patchy and strange colors. I had blue, green, brown, blonde, ultra blonde... but after the second time I was very happy with the results, no more patches and no more strange colors!

Some tips that I think would be helpful to anyone bleaching at home:

- try to avoid using a lot of heat or any hair products a few weeks before bleaching
- wear old clothes, use old towels when bleaching! (I know it's obvious but some people forget)
- you have to work quickly to ensure even coverage, the effects of the bleach are almost instant
- ask a friend to help you, doing it alone can be frustrating
- do not comb the bleach through your hair! (it will cause major breakage and unhappy hair)
- condition, condition, condition, oh yeah and condition
- a few days after bleaching use a hair mask to restore moisture

As for the specific kit I used, as long as you follow the directions exactly I would recommend it! It came with everything you need. For once the gloves weren't huge like many dye kits gloves are. The mixture is a cool blue which helps tone out the brassiness that bleaching often induces. The fumes are pretty strong so I suggest doing it in a well ventilated area, my friend who helped me got pretty light headed from them. I have to say for a bleaching kit it wasn't even that damaging to my hair. I used it twice in two weeks (with a hair mask and tons of conditioning in between) and I had very little breakage. Many of you may need to do it twice as I did, but I imagine many with medium brown shades would only need one, just make sure you leave it on long enough!

Here was my hair before, blue/black:

After the first bleaching:

And after the second bleaching:

I actually dyed my hair again soon after to a more natural, but still very light, blonde and my hair picked up the color really well even after all that bleaching. I really hope this helps someone who was looking for the right at home bleaching kit. If anyone stumbles across this and has any questions please feel free to ask!

Bzzagent/Unreal Excitement

First post! I recently became a a member of this awesome site called bzzagent.com, this is how they describe themselves on their website,

"Connecting people and their favorite brands since 2001, BzzAgent is the leading social marketing company. What's that mean to you? We put products in the hands of hundreds of thousands of real consumers and help them share their opinions about them with friends and family via reviews, Facebook posts, photos and videos, blog posts and more. We wouldn't call ourselves heroes, but it's okay if you want to."

I thought it was pretty cool sounding so I decided to give it a try! I only signed up a few days ago and have already been invited to join a campaign, I'm so excited! I have been selected to try this new candy line I had actually just heard about a few days before signing up to be a bzzagent. The candy is advertised as being a healthier and more natural alternative to the classic candy bars that are available. I for one am excited to try these out since I cut out a lot of those unhealthy snacks for that reason, especially the sugar. If you're interested you can check out the candy line at getunreal.com. I actually enjoyed browsing their site, it made me even more excited to try it out. I will post a review as soon as I try it out and if anyone else has already tried it or is planning to, I'd love to hear your thoughts as well!
